With over 20 years of experience, Dr Vijay Hajela is a distinguished consultant rheumatologist based in various south-east locations including London, Brighton, and Hayward's Heath. His specialisms include musculoskeletal pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, gout, polymyalgia, and SLE (lupus). After qualifying from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne's medical school in 1990, Dr Hajela served in hospitals throughout the UK and even worked in Auckland, New Zealand for a time. His most recent position was a consultant rheumatologist at University Hospitals Sussex before transitioning to the private sector. His roles have included clinical lead for rheumatology at two hospitals, chair of a primary care musculoskeletal panel and director of medical education.
